TYPICAL SUNDAY
At Midtown Vineyard Church worship through song is an essential part of of our gatherings. We begin with a call to worship to help prepare our hearts for worship with some scripture and prayer. We invite our Vinekids (k-4th) and Midtown Students (5th-12th) to stay during worship to experience what their parents experience. After worship our Vinekids and Student volunteers escort the kids to their classes for an age appropriate lesson, a time of creativity and fun!
After announcements, a message is given in accordance to what we have been learning as a church. Pastor Tommy, our Lead Pastor, does a large portion of the preaching on Sundays, however we believe in sharing the responsibility. Our goal is to hear from a variety of people with life experiences and perspectives from our own. The Kingdom is not filled with only like minded people, but those from every tribe, tongue, nation, and background, and we want to reflect that in our gatherings. You can see our current preaching team on our Staff page.
Our end of service is a time of reflection and response, be that through song, prayer, communion, quiet contemplation, etc.. There are several ways to do this around the auditorium. At the front we have places to kneel and candles to light as a way to give action to what God has placed on our hearts. We also have communion elements available to celebrate and remember. We want to give space for Holy Spirit to move and work and speak in and through us.
During our 9 AM & 10:30 AM gathering our Midtown Students (5th-12th) gather in the Student Room for their own service.
