VOLUNTEER INFO
Every year hundreds of International J1 Visa students come to Myrtle Beach to work and visit the United States. At the All Nations Cafe we provide a safe place two nights a week to come hang out, get a free meal, and experience the love of Christ through our volunteers. There are many ways you can help on Cafe nights, so check out below and see if this is something for you!
CHECK-IN & REGISTRATION
We are looking for friendly faces to greet and register students and other volunteers when they arrive each night! Training is provided.
SECURITY
Help keep our students, facilities, and volunteers safe and secure during cafe nights. This includes staying vigilant against potential predators and sex traffickers who target the cafe students.
OUTDOOR & INDOOR RECREATION
Play indoor and outdoor games, i.e. jenga, uno,
soccer, basketball, cornhole. The goal is to build
relatiosnhips through doing fun activities
together with students.
ARTS, GAMES, & MUSIC
Are you the creative or musical type? Engage with students as you create crafts, art, or music together!
HOST HOMES
Provide safe lodging for one or two days for
students whose housing is deemed unsafe
while they find safe housing. Families with
spare bedrooms are a perfect fit for the
opportunity!
TRANSPORTATION
We are seeking volunteers who can help
provide emergency transportation to students
( i.e. to pick up medications, travel safely at
night, attend outings, etc).
BIKE RENTAL & REPAIR
Assist with paperwork to rent bikes and ensure
bikes are in good working order before they are
rented to students. Perform minor repairs
when students bring in damaged bikes during
their time here.
FOOD LINE & KITCHEN
Help prepare and/or serve food to students! Food & kitchen volunteers will be on a rotation.
COFFEE & CONVERSATION
Help facilitate conversation with students after
hearing a message or story from the Bible.
Questions are usually provided to help conversation get started. This is a great way to help teach English and share the Gospel.
DAY TRIPS & OUTINGS
Drive and accompany students on several
outings to various locations throughout the
summer. Details to come.
AIRPORT GREETING
Greet and welcome arriving J1 Students at the
airport during May to June on two rotating
shifts starting at 5pm & 7pm. You will also
provide information about Orientation and
offer assistance to ensure they arrive safely at
their host homes or lodgings.
